Prof. Bu Jiajun's Team Won the First Class Science and Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province
On the morning of July 17 2020, Science and Technology Award Conference was held at the People’s Great Hall of Zhejiang Province. The achievement of “Key Technology of Accessible Intelligent Information Service and Its Application” by the team of Bu Jiajun (Executive Vice-Dean of School of Software Technology, Zhejiang University), Alibaba and other companies received the First Class Science and Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province.
The participants included Bu Jiajun, Zhang Jianfeng, Cai Liang, Dai Lianjun, Chen Chun, Chen Jian, Wang Can, Zheng Yefei, Chen Ling, Shi Lie, Zhou Qin, Yu Zhi and Wang Wei.

Supported by national and provincial scientific and technological projects from 2007, Prof. Bu’s team has explored the service mode of “Internet+information accessibility”. The team, together with the Information Center of China Disabled Persons’ Federation, Alibaba, Insigma, Zhijiang Lab and other organizations, rose to the challenges of single offline service mode, weak accessible information technology and dispersed service platforms, tackled three major issues in key technology, published 30 high-level research papers, authorized 25 patents, and received the Outstanding Paper Award at the AAAI 2012 Conference (the only team from China’s Mainland that has received this award).
The achievement of the team has not only supported the core services of China Disabled Person’s Federation and more than 20 provincial/ municipal Disabled Person’s Federations in China, benefiting over 35 million disabled people across China, but also been applied in enterprises like Alibaba, with their output value increased by more than 20 billion yuan in the past three years. The team has also participated in the planning and construction of information accessibility of Xiong'an New Area, XXIV Olympic Winter Games and Beijing 2022 Paralympic Games. It has yielded remarkable social and economic benefits, and has developed a Chinese mode for providing services to the disabled through the Internet.
