Founded in 1953 by Germany's oldest industrial design institute, the iF Design Award is hailed as the Oscar Award in the design industry. It is known as one of three most famous design awards in the world alongside Red Dot and IDEA.
The iF Design Talent Award is set up for students and young designers from all over the world. It is devoted to looking for innovations that may change the world and designs that may lead the development of products in the future. The iF Design Talent Award requires young designers to broaden their horizons and come up with creative solutions to the problems faced by mankind.
The theme of this competition was the UN sustainable development goals. With more than 10,000 entries worldwide, only 112 of them won the iF Design Talent Award — the percentage was as low as 1%.
