The morning of June 28 2019, Chinese Kong Fu Experience

On the morning of June 28, 2019, international students attended a joyful Chinese Kong Fu class at the Zijingang Campus Gymnasium. Led by Professor Zhu Li, they experienced the magnificence and charm of Chinese Kong Fu despite the hot weather.

Prof. Zhu firstly introduced the basic knowledge and basic movements of Chinese Kong Fu, including basic gestures like boxing and palm, basic steps like lunge and the horse stance, and basic movements like direct punch. With the translation of Winnie from MIT, the students listened carefully and learned conscientiously. Afterwards, Mrs. Zhu demonstrated the decomposition of Kong Fu routines, explained each action in detail, and repeated it for the students patiently.

After a morning of training, the students mastered the essentials of movements. Under Ms. Zhu’s guidance, their movements were uniform and smooth. Even though they were sweating and exhausted, they expressed that Kong Fu lessons were very interesting and they had some experience of the charm of Chinese Kong Fu. And if possible, they would certainly take part in it again.

The afternoon of June 28 2019, Visit to Zijingang Compus of Zhejiang University 

On the afternoon of June 28, 2019, overseas students visited the history museum on Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University. The volunteers of the history museum detailed the history and achievements of Zhejiang University in the past 120 years. Especially, the historical record of Zhejiang University moving all the way to the West in the war era aroused admiration from overseas students.

Overseas students visited historic building named Nanhua Garden on Zijingang Campus. Nanhua Garden is well-preserved ancient architecture dating back to the Ming Dynasty. It was moved from Wuyi County to Zijingang Campus as a whole, and was restored brick by brick. Overseas students enjoyed the tranquility of Nanhua Garden, reveled in the surrounding green trees, wetland scenery and ancient buildings, and it seemed to give an illusion of passing through time and space.

Finally, the students visited the lecture hall of Zhejiang University.
