In this golden autumn, with the fragrance of osmanthus, and colorful flags, the College of Software Technology in Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University was holding the second Postgraduate sports meeting in track and field grand on October 16^th . There were 15 teams of athletes to take part in this sports meeting, and they are from the College of Software Technology in Zhejiang University, the school of engineer in Ningbo of Zhejiang University and the college of science and technology in Ningbo of Zhejiang University. All these athletes were hard working and dedicated to this brilliant competitive event.

    With the cool rain, all athletes gathered at the track and field to welcome the opening ceremony of the sports meeting. The leaders attending the opening ceremony are as follows: Hu Zhengyu, the President Assistant of Zhejiang University, the Secretary of the Party Working Committee in Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University, the Deputy Secretary-general of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningbo Institute of Science and Technology of Zhejiang University; Zhang Xianmin, the Director of the Board of Management in Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University and the President of Ningbo Institute of Science and Technology of Zhejiang University; Feng Jianbo, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and the Vice Dean of Ningbo Institute of Science and Technology of Zhejiang University; Jiang Hongshan, the Secretary of the Party Group and the Director of Ningbo State High-tech Zone Education and Sports Bureau; Chen Li, the Vice Dean in the College of Software Technology of Zhejiang University and the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering in Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang university; Cai Liang, the Vice Dean in the College of Software Technology School of Zhejiang University, and etc. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Yazhou, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Computer Science Technology and the College of Software Technology of Zhejiang University, and the Vice President of the Institute of Engineering in Ningbo Branch.

    The host, Professor Xu Yazhou declared the start of the opening ceremony.

    After raising the national flag and playing the national anthem, all representative teams entered separately. The National Flag Guard of Ningbo institute of science and technology of Zhejiang University dressed in military uniform were walking in front of the procession. Under the lead of the national flag, the flag of Zhejiang University and the flag of the Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University, all the athletes teams passed the rostrum with exuberant slogans. They marched forward with vigorous steps, valiant and energetic spirit, which showed the vitality of youth.

    By the end of the entrance, Mr. Zhang Xianmin made an opening speech. He pointed out that on August 1th this year, the school signed a strategic agreement with the Ningbo Municipal people’s Government that  the two sides jointly built the Ningbo campus of Zhejiang University with “five-sphere integrated plan”, which marked the formal opening of the grand blueprint for the construction of the Ningbo campus of Zhejiang University. He hoped that all the postgraduate in the sports meeting could “seek common ground while reserving differences, and assimilate differences”. Also, we could effectively enhance the friendship between the students and the units, and accelerate the construction of a community of destiny for the development of the campus. At the same time, he issued a proposal to everyone that “ out of the internet, walk out of the dormitory,  go to the playground. Exercise one hour for one day and live a healthy life. Hone the will and build the body”. Also, he wished it would be a complete success. Afterwards, Shi Yishuai and teacher Cai Xiaoping on behalf of the athletes and referees made the vow.

Later, teacher Hu Zhengyu announced the opening of the second postgraduate sports meeting in Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University. Teacher Jiang Hongshan fired the shots for the men’s 100 m preliminary.

    There were 6 routine events and 2 class events in this postgraduate sports meeting, which are divided into men group and women group. The specific events were as follows, such as 100 m, 400 m, 1500 m, 4 × 100 m relay, high jump, standing long jump. And the class item included 20 × 60 m relay and “tug of war”. Although it was rainy in the course of the competition, the enthusiasm of the athletes did not fade. Instead, they were still struggling to do their best. On the track field, they were ready to to try, and the competition was on the verge. As the starting gun went off, all the athletes rushed to the end, just like an arrow from the string. They sped up swinging arms and the pace of steps. On the red track were filled with their figures. The rain and sweat wet their clothes, but they could not stop them from marching forward. For the high jump athletes, they were as light as a swallow and draw graceful arcs in the air. For the long jump, all the athletes leisurely raised their arms and jumped forward with sufficient preparation, solid basic skills and smart skills to create good results. All athletics in the field displayed their passion, achieved the goal of faster, higher and farther, and constantly challenged themselves, which is not only the spirit of sports, but also the creed of striving forward in life and never give up. In the event of class relay, whether it is the tacit transfer of contestants, or the crowd, they showed the power of teamwork and cooperation.

    When the athletes made their efforts, all the volunteers worked hard on the other side of the field, which also reflected the spirit of the sports in another way. What they need to do is to maintain order, take care of the athletes who finished their competitions, count the results of the game, record the upcoming players, and they were busy all the time. Volunteers were indeed the important participants in the sports meeting. Their obscure dedication had led to the smooth of this magnificent sports meeting. Let us praise them for their spirit of service.

    After a fierce competition, the 1701 team of the institute of engineering in Ningbo Branch won the first place in the total score of the group, and the 1801 team of the institute of engineering in Ningbo Branch and the team 1804 in the College of Software Technology won the second and third place respectively. At the same time, sports athletes in the men 4 × 100 m and men high jump both broke the record of postgraduate sports meeting in Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University.

    With the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the sports meeting was successfully concluded. This was a grand gathering of all the participation and collective efforts. It recorded the sweaty flushed cheeks of the athletes, the busy figures of the volunteers, and the inspiring cheering support of the spectators. Also, the excitement of the wining of the team and the joyful expression on the face were impressive to us.

    This sports meeting not only responded to the theme of “chasing the dream, fighting for the competition, challenging ourselves and breaking through the limit”, but also it comprehensively showed the energetic and positive spirit of the teachers and students in Ningbo Campus of Zhejiang University. It has played a positive role in arousing the enthusiasm of postgraduate students, creating a good cultural and sports atmosphere, establishing the educational concept of “health first”, cultivating the collective consciousness and the ability of solidarity and cooperation of the postgraduate students, which could enhance the study and communication of graduate students in different departments.
