The opening ceremony of the fourth graduate international summer school of Zhejiang University -- the software engineering international industry-University-research cooperation project was smoothly held

On The morning of June 26, 2018, the opening ceremony of The 4th International Graduate Summer School (The 4th International Graduate Summer School 2018), the software engineering international industry-University-research cooperation project, was held in Yangming hall of Qizhen hotel, Zijin port campus, Zhejiang University. Weiyi Wang, senior director of human resources department of Alibaba; Gongyin Ye, vice president of graduate school of zhejiang University; Ying Xu, deputy director of foreign affairs department; Jie Shen,president of international education College; Jiajun bU, executive vice president of College of Software Technology; Lieping Peng, party secretary of computer College and College of Software Technology; Li Chen, vice President of College of Software Technology attended the opening ceremony. The conference is hosted by Liang Cai, vice President of College of Software Technology. Excellent graduate students from three world top universities including Stanford University, Imperial College of technology and National University of Singapore, representatives from Alibaba company, some teachers from College of Software Technology and excellent volunteers from Zhejiang University participated in the opening ceremony.

Vice President Gongyin Ye first delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the graduate school, welcoming the graduate students from Stanford University, Imperial College and National University of Singapore. President Ye introduced the history and running situation of Zhejiang University, especially the achievement of "double first class" construction. He pointed out that the College of Software Technology responded positively to President Zhaohui Wu's call for the "1+1+X" talent cultivation idea of building the integration of production and education and internationalization of world-class universities with Chinese characteristics, and take the initiative to cooperate with the world's top universities to carry out international Industry-University-Research project cooperation, providing new ideas for international talent cultivation. He hopes that the College of Software Technology will work with Alibaba to carefully organize each part of the event and make efforts to build the project into a brand project for international work.

 Weiyi Wang, the senior director, on behalf of Alibaba group, welcomes all the overseas students to study in Zhejiang University and have an internship in Alibaba. In his speech, he introduced Alibaba and its mission. He pointed out that Alibaba attaches great importance to cooperation with Zhejiang University. In order to attract the outstanding graduate students from the world's top universities, Alibaba provides internship positions in the core departments with strong international experience, such as International experience division, Dharma institute, and Aliyun. He is convinced that the time in Hangzhou will be a wonderful memory for the overseas students attending this event.

Deputy director Ying Xu, on behalf of the International Relations Office, extended a warm welcome to the three top universities for their graduate students to come to Zhejiang University for exchange and study. She stressed that Stanford University, Imperial College and National University of Singapore are very important partners of Zhejiang University, and reviewed the history of cooperation between Zhejiang University and Stanford University, Imperial College and National University of Singapore, and was also full of expectations for future cooperation. She pointed out that the successful implementation of the software engineering international industry-university-research cooperation project put the university's international school-enterprise cooperation and school-university cooperation into practice, and made a beneficial exploration and attempt to establish a long-term cooperative mechanism with international "talent-project-platform" as the link.

At last, Liang Cai, vice President, on behalf of the College of Software Technology, introduced the running situation of the College of Software Technology, and the specific content of this software engineering international industry-university-research cooperation project. He pointed out that the successful implementation of this project is a major breakthrough for the international work of College of Software Technology. He also thanked Alibaba, the Graduate school, the Foreign Affairs department and the International Education College for their strong support for this project. The College of Software Technology strives to build this project into a demonstration platform of international Industry-University- Research cooperation with the characteristics of Zhejiang University.

      At the opening ceremony, under the witness of all the participants, senior director Weiyi Wang, vice President Gongyin Ye, President Jie Shen, executive vice President Jiajun Bu, secretary Lieping Peng and vice President Li Chen jointly took the stage for the unveiling ceremony of  "Zhejiang University-Alibaba internship base".

      We believe that under the careful organization of the College of Software Technology and alibaba, the overseas students can surely experience the enthusiasm of the people of Zhejiang University, the feelings of the people of Zhejiang University, and the real scientific research level of Zhejiang University. The success of the software engineering international industry-university-research cooperation project provides a platform for students from different cultures and backgrounds to communicate and learn, further expanding the international reputation and influence of Zhejiang University.
