On the afternoon of September 28, 2018, the appointment ceremony of senior adviser for foreign affairs in the College of Software Technology, Zhejiang University was held in the conference room of Caoguangbiao Building 201, Yuquan Campus. Guests and school leaders attending the appointment ceremony are: Dr. Ying Li, director of the Zhejiang alumni association of MIT and co-founder of Yunfeng Foundation, Ms. Lieping Peng, party secretary of the College of Computer Science and Technology and College of Software Technology, Mr. Jiajun Bu, Executive Vice Dean of College of Software Technology, and Mr. Liang Cai, Vice Dean of College of Software Technology. The conference is presided over by Liang Cai, Vice Dean of College of Software Technology.

Secretary Lieping Peng delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the College.Secretary Peng warmly welcomed and thanked Dr. Li for guiding and participating in the foreign affairs work of the College of Software Technology. Then secretary Peng introduced the situation and achievements of the school: The school has initially achieved the goal of leading in China, and is now forging ahead towards the goal of International First-Class. Dr. Li's participation will boost the international cooperation between the College of Software Technology of Zhejiang University and the top international universities such as MIT.

Liang Cai, the Vice Dean, introduced the foreign affairs work of College of Software Technology. He pointed out that the international cooperation fields of the College of Software Technology mainly include scientific research, projects and teaching. International cooperation in teaching includes One Belt And One Road joint training program for foreign students and Zhejiang University International Education-Research-Industry Program (ZIERIP for short) for top international universities. Dean Cai highlighted the entire process of the ZIERIP project in the summer of 2018, in collaboration with Stanford University, Imperial College and National University of Singapore. He hopes to use Dr. Li's resources and influence at MIT to promote ZIERIP to other top universities in the world, such as MIT.

Dr. Ying Li introduced her overseas study and work experience, and summarized her successful experience into three aspects.Firstly, she believes that the most critical factor is to find the right person, such as finding good partners in study and working with excellent people, which will make her grow faster. Secondly, it is very important to invest in standard start-ups, especially those with international standards, because such enterprises can start from small companies, master the core technology, connect the top resources in the industry and gradually form the actual industry standard. The third is to promote the industrialization of University laboratory results. Dr. Li believes that the laboratory results of many top universities abroad are difficult to industrialize because their technology is too cutting-edge. It will have a positive effect if we can push these professors to cooperate with Zhejiang University and well-known domestic enterprises to build joint laboratories together. Dr. Li suggested that the international cooperation of College of Software Technology could be advanced around the above points, and she was very willing to help.

Dean Jiajun Bu agreed with Dr. Ying Li in his concluding speech. He points out that the quality of students enrolled in software schools has been getting better in recent years. Students are doing well in the increasing number of foreign exchanges. The College was named A+ subject in the department of education's discipline assessment in 2017. At the same time, Zhejiang University also has a good foundation in cutting-edge technology research and participation in the formulation of national standards. Dean Bu believes that the first step of ZIERIP project is to attract research students from overseas top universities to visit and exchange with Zhejiang University. He hoped that Dr. Li could recommend more professors from overseas top universities to cooperate with professors from Zhejiang University and Alibaba in scientific research projects, so as to establish an international talent-project-platform as a long-term cooperative mechanism.He hoped that with the help of Dr. Li, the institute's foreign affairs work could be promoted to a higher level.

By the end of the meeting, Dean Jiajun Bu presented the appointment letter of senior consultant for foreign affairs of the College of Software Technology to Dr.Ying Li and took a group photo.
